The National Small Business Association, Inc. (NSBA) is committed to protecting your privacy. We want to make sure that you know how your personal information is used. We also want you to be aware that you have choices about how we use this information.


What Information We Collect

We do not collect information on those that only browse our site. The information we collect is used to improve the content of our site. We collect only the domain name, but not the e-mail of visitors to our site. We maintain records of the e-mail addresses of those who post messages to our bulletin board and the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail; we collect information on what pages visitors access or visit, information volunteered by the visitor, such as survey information and/or site registration and payment information (e.g., credit card number and billing address).


When you apply for membership or enroll in one or more of the benefits, products or services offered on our website we ask for basic information such as your name and contact information. We keep track of our members’ and visitors’ participation in our benefits and services so we can understand their interests and evaluate the effectiveness of our programs. We also collect demographic information from other sources to help us learn more about members’ and visitors’ characteristics and needs. This information helps us to better serve our members and visitors and to improve our benefit and services.


Persons that supply us with their telephone number on-line will only receive telephone contact from us with information they have requested.


Information Sharing

We share your personal information only with those companies that have been selected to provide NSBA benefits and services to NSBA members and/or visitors to Some of the providers of NSBA services and benefits pay a fee for access to our membership list. Our contracts with these companies require them to keep the member information strictly confidential, and allow them to use the information only to offer the contracted services and benefits to the NSBA and NSBA members.


From time to time, we may use member or visitor information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our website to notify visitors of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our website periodically. NSBA affiliates may also have access to member and/or visitor information.


Finally, we may release personal member information on the rare occasions when we are required to do so by law, or when necessary or appropriate to comply with legal process or to protect or defend the NSBA and its members. We do not sell or rent member information to telemarketers, mailing list brokers, or any other companies that are not offering NSBA-endorsed or sponsored services or benefits.

We respect your choices. If you do not want us to share your information with providers of NSBA member services and benefits, you can contact us as specified below. You should then stop receiving NSBA provider mailings in about six to eight weeks.
